St Johns Church
At St John's Church there is a small single manual (no pedals) early electronic organ. The regular services at St John's Church are accompanied by different organists on a monthly rota. The services at St John's are said, with sung hymns.
St Peter's Church
St Peter's Church has a weekly sung Eucharist on Sunday mornings. The church choir (made up of junior and more senior singers) sings a congregational mass setting, and an anthem during the communion. There is a monthly combined Parish Service at one of the churches, at which the St Peter's Choir sings, and eucharists are also sung at other special services during the year. The church has a traditional two manual ‘tracker-action’ organ with pedals. The St Peter's choir is available to sing at weddings in the Parish.
Junior Choir at St Peters
The junior choir rehearses every Thursday evening from 7.15pm-8.00pm in St Peter's Church (juniors are often joined at these rehearsals by any choir adults new to singing). Junior choir rehearsals have an emphasis on ‘singing for fun’, as well as teaching the junior singers some of the basics of music theory and singing technique, and preparing music for the services. Some of the junior singers join in the activity clubs that take place during part of the service for younger members of the congregation. New singers are always welcome.
The senior choir rehearses every Thursday evening from 7.45pm-9.00pm in St Peters Church. Senior choir rehearsals prepare the choir for a wide repertoire of hymns and anthems that are sung during the regular weekly Eucharists, and at special service and occasions during the year. The senior choir has some established singers, but new singers are always welcome. Adults that are new to singing are welcome to join in with the Junior Choir rehearsals to help to develop their singing skills and musicianship.
St Peter's Band
On the second Sunday of each month, the worship at St Peter's is led by singers and a band. A group of musicians lead some more modern hymns and worship songs as part of the Sunday morning Eucharist at St Peters. The band services are organised by John Ridgeway, and any new singers or musicians would be welcome to join in.
St Thomas' Church
St Thomas' Church has a weekly sung Eucharist on Sunday mornings. There is a small group of singers who lead the congregational mass setting and hymns. There is a monthly combined Parish Service at one of the churches, at which the St Peter's Choir sings, and Eucharists are also sung at other special services during the year. The church has a traditional two manual ‘tracker-action’ organ with pedals.
